11th Grade Students take the ACT this year on March 8th (Tuesday) at 7:30am
Test Day: March 8, 2022
For: All CHS 11th Graders
Format: ACT Online
ACT District Testing provides all 11th graders the opportunity to take the ACT exam free of charge during the school day. The test will be administered using ACT’s Online Testing Program called TestNav.
The ACT contains four multiple-choice tests—English, mathematics, reading, and science. The Writing portion of the ACT is not given this day. These tests are designed to measure skills that are most important for success in postsecondary education and that are acquired in secondary education.
What do you need to know?
On Thursday, February 24th, all CHS 11th graders will participate in an ACT Prep training at Cottonwood High, provided by Gear Up. Shmoop is also a great test prep program that students have been using to prepare for this exam. Shmoop is available to all CHS students through the student portal (search “Shmoop” for the tile to appear).
The ACT will be on March 8th, 2022 beginning promptly at 7:30 am. Please bring your SCHOOL Chromebook fully charged with your cord, in case that is also needed. If you do not have a school Chromebook please pick one up in the CHS Library. Home computers and devices do not have the online testing program installed.
Come early to have your Chromebooks checked by the tech team at the North Main doors of the school. We recommend you come to the building no later than 7:00 am. You may come as early as 6:45 am that morning. Students taking the ACT may also pick up a free Chick-Fil-A breakfast burrito in the Gym.
Your classroom assignments will be posted 1 week before test day throughout the building. Students with accommodations will get more detailed instructions soon.
Testing will take most of the school day. After the four subject tests, students will complete demographic information at www.myact.org. This is required for tests to be scored.
For more information please review the “Taking the ACT” booklet below, which was also provided to students through their ELA classes.
If you have questions please contact the ACT Coordinator, Kristen D’Acquisto at firstname.lastname@example.org.
